Visiting Himba Community

Visiting a Himba community was a truly unforgettable experience. The Himba people are a semi-nomadic tribe with an estimated population of about 50,000 people living in northern Namibia, in the Kunene Region and on the other side of the Kunene River in southern Angola. They are known for their distinctive red ochre body paint and intricate jewelry, as well as their deep-rooted cultural traditions and beliefs.
